Logan Farms to occupy former Wendy's site

Today it is vacant, with the old building deteriorating as weeds snake across what was once the parking lot. In September, Logan Farms Honey Glazed Hams & Market Café, currently at 5720 FM 1960 W, will renovate the former Wendy's building and move its operations there.
Pink Logan, owner of Logan Farms, said the building is still good enough for the store, which has graced the Champions area for 15 years.
"We have been looking for a couple of years to relocate the store to a freestanding building because we have found freestanding buildings sell about 50 percent more than stores located in inline shopping centers," Logan said.
While the store's holiday hams have done excellent business at their current location next to Outback Steakhouse, Logan said they have had a harder time selling lunch.
"We have had a wonderful ham business there for years, but it has been a slow store as far as lunches have gone," Logan said. "Many are not aware we also serve a variety of sandwiches and lunch specials."
Logan said with a new location down FM 1960, he expects to maintain his current business, in addition to gaining new customers lured in by the restaurant's sandwiches, New Orleans Po'Boys, and lunch plates, featuring one entrée, two sides and a salad.
In addition, Logan said he hopes to expand Logan Farms' catering locally, offering the best of the holiday season year around to board meetings, company luncheons and offices looking to order out.
With his eye on opening Sept. 1, Logan said the 2,600-square-foot building will start a new chapter for both the restaurant and the community.
"This is a win-win situation," Logan said. "I really like 1960, and I think we're going to see great things with our new location."
